"And I tell you, ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door
will be opened to you. For the one who asks, receives; and the one who seeks finds;
and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened." Luke 11:9
The purpose of the Prayer Network is to pray. It is the intension of the network to provide prayerful support which hopefully brings peace and comfort to those who have requested special prayers in times of great stress and suffering, as well as prayers of gratitude and joy. Members of the network pray for particular individuals and intensions daily. They also pray for: each other - their families - the parish staff - and the Community of OLQP.
The Prayer Network consists of:
A coordinator
A secretarial aide
Seven team leaders
Seven teams of approximately six members each and
A pastoral staff liaison
Individuals who have prayer requests contact Penny Rose or call the parish asking for prayers for a specific person or for a specific reason. The prayer requests are passed on to team leaders who pass them on to a team member who passes it on to another team member. There are approximately 50 people who respond to prayer requests. All requests are prayed for daily. CONFIDENTIALITY IS MAINTAINED - unless the person requesting prayers gives permission.
Each member prays in the manner and style of prayer they choose.
There is no set way and no set time.
At least one meeting a year is held to bring all members of the network together and to pray and reflect on their ministry.
New volunteers are always welcome to join this wonderful ministry! Please contact one of the persons below if you are interested in joining the prayer network, if you would like more information on this prayer ministry, or if you yourself have a prayer request!
